I wonder if you can possibly help me.

A friend of mine has asked for help in trying to solve a &#039;family mystery&#039;, which relates to a one time priest at the Catholic church. She has requested my help as it was something that her grandmother always wanted to find the answer to but, unfortunately, her grandmother passed away at the start of this month.

Her Grandmother&#039;s uncle was Vincent Connell, born on 11 January 1910 in South Shields. She believes that he was ordained as a Catholic priest in 1934 and, in the 1939 Register, he is shown as a Catholic Priest living at The Brooms, Consett.

Following this record, there is nothing that people can find in respect of him. A family story is that he actually joined up for the war effort. Would it be possible for you to let me know when he left his role at this church and, if possible, any information as to why and where he went next.

Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated in progressing this mystery that my friend promised her grandmother that she would try and solve before her death.
